Monggar

Monggar is one of the 20 districts of Bhutan. Monggar is the fastest-developing dzongkhag in eastern Bhutan with many economic activities. Mongar is known for its lemon grass, a plant that can be used to produce an essential oil. Lemon grass has also become one of the source of income for local people as it has started gaining price in the market. It also has a hydropower plant on the Kuri Chhu river.
